Since 1983, we have partnered with more than 2,650 Bahamian students on their path to achieving post-secondary education.

We offer post-secondary scholarships to qualified applicants for study internationally, either in technical and vocational fields, or at the undergraduate or graduate level, and nationally at University of The Bahamas.

100% of recipients pursue degrees that fill labour gaps in the Bahamian economy. Alumni hold key roles in the country across a breadth of areas from medicine to civil service to education and environment.

With a deep commitment to support our national institutions, we offer partial need-based scholarships for students to attend University of The Bahamas full-time. Selection and administration of the awards are managed by The University. Applications are available from the University’s financial aid office.

UB Financial Aid Deadlines:

  • Financial aid for fall semester (August) – First Friday in February.
  • Financial aid for spring semester (January) – Last Friday in September.
  • Financial aid renewal, fall semester (August) only – Third Friday in May.


We offer partial scholarships obtains degrees at these levels:

Scholarship season is once per year beginning in January.

Students choose their own institution and field of study, and apply to us at any time, whether as a new freshman or a junior in college. It is highly competitive.

The nine criteria weigh financial need, academic merit, field of study, reputation of intuition, career goal, availability of programme in The Bahamas, financial capacity, and personal qualities. There are no age restrictions.


  • Minimum value increased from $7,500 to $15,000
  • Criteria refined and approved by Board of Directors to give preference to:
    • First generation college students
    • Students who complete their first degree in The Bahamas
  • 34 new recipients joined our Scholar family.
  • 30 Scholars graduated.
