The Lyford Cay Foundations’ Gifts and Grants Committee is a powerful catalyst for change in The Bahamas, having disbursed more than $12 million to dozens of non-profit organizations to date, including:

  • Bahamas Reef Environmental Education Foundation (BREEF)
  • The Cancer Society of The Bahamas
  • Cape Eleuthera Foundation
  • Every Child Counts, Abaco
  • Exceptional Educational Outreach, Eleuthera and Harbour Island
  • The Governor-General’s Youth Award Programme
  • Great Commission Ministries International
  • Hands for Hunger
  • Hopedale Centre and Foundation
  • Project Read Bahamas
  • Royal Bahamas Police Force Dependants’ Trust
  • The Salvation Army of The Bahamas
  • South Andros Handicraft and Manufacturers Association
  • Youth Against Violence

The Committee also assists schools for the learning disabled and mentally impaired, as well as homes and shelters for orphaned or socially displaced children and the elderly.

Grants range from $5,000 to $25,000. On occasion, substantially larger grants have been approved and special fundraising efforts undertaken.
